How can I create overlapping bookings?

Leverage the flexibility of PGA Coach to create events or book sessions that overlap with existing calendar items.

Note: creating overlapping bookings can be completed in both the PGA Coach website and in the PGA Coach mobile app.

Use Cases for Creating Overlapping Bookings

Below are examples of possible reasons for intending to create events that overlap or double book a private coaching session.

Group Events

  • Run two events at the same time with different registrations

    • Example 1: Create one event registration for advanced golfers that requires an access code and one for developing golfers that does not.

    • Example 2: Create the same event with different pricing using access codes (ie. member vs. non-member)

  • Create multiple clinics at the same time on your PGA Coach calendar that could be led by other instructors/assistants at your facility

  • Run classes such as on-course play days that occur at the same time but utilize different parts of your facility (ie. one group plays the front 9 while another group plays the back 9)

Private Sessions

  • Book with multiple golfers (ie. two friends) at the same time without creating a group event

  • Book golfers across multiple simulators or hitting bays at the same time

Creating Overlapping Group Events

After creating your initial group event, simply create a second event during the same time.

A warning message will display if the event being created overlaps an existing calendar item (blocked time, existing group event or existing lesson). Continue creating the event if you intend to overlap with an existing calendar item.

Double Book a Private Session

Double booking a private session can only be completed by a coach. If your booking page is available (Book Now is enabled), students will still only see times according to your availability.

To intentionally double book a session, you will need to book on behalf of the student. Times that are already booked won't be visible to select so you'll need to add a custom time.

Once you add the custom time and it overlaps the existing booking, a warning message will display if the session being created overlaps an existing calendar item (blocked time, existing group event or existing lesson). Continue creating the session if you intend to overlap with an existing calendar item.
