This article explains how parents or guardians can update their own account information and their player’s information using the MyPGA mobile app.
These steps are commonly used to correct account setup issues that can prevent player registration.
Common registration issue: Parent account set up under a child’s information
When signing up for PGA Jr. League for the first time, it’s common for parents to accidentally create the MyPGA account using their child’s information instead of their own.
This usually happens when:
A parent enters their child’s name and birthdate during account creation
The system then treats the child as the account holder
Why this causes a problem
PGA Jr. League registration requires an adult account holder.
If the account is associated with a minor’s birthdate, registration cannot continue and may appear blocked or unavailable.
The correct setup
The parent or guardian should be the account holder
The player (child) should be added separately to the account
If the account was mistakenly created under the child's information, you can fix this by:
Updating the account holder's details to reflect the parent/guardian
Ensuring the player's profile contains the correct child information
The steps below walk you through exactly how to make these updates in the MyPGA mobile app.
Proper account setup during registration (important context)
When registering for PGA Jr. League, an adult guardian must:
Log in to an existing MyPGA account, or
Create a new MyPGA account using the adult guardian’s personal information
After logging in, the parent or guardian will:
Enter the player’s profile information as part of registration
This same MyPGA account can also be used in the MyPGA mobile app to access:
Schedules
Events
Scores
Standings
Messages
