Resolve Common Child Registration Issues on MyPGA

Troubleshooting guide for parents and guardians

Written by Camp Murphy
Updated this week

If you are having trouble registering your child on MyPGA, the issue is usually caused by one of the following:

  • The account birthdate or account holder information is incorrect

  • The system is prompting you to pay the #GameChanger Club fee again

  • The program is not yet open for registration

  • The account state information is incorrect

  • Registration is not visible in the MyPGA app

  • The registration status shows as "In Progress" and does not complete

Use the sections below to identify the issue and fix it.

Before you start

  • Confirm you are logged in as the parent/guardian account holder

  • If you are unsure which account you used previously, check the email address that received prior MyPGA or PGA Jr. League messages

  • Ensure the account holder information reflects an adult as the primary account holder, as the system requires an adult to register a child in the PGA Jr. League.

1) Registration blocked due to age or date of birth (DOB)

Common cause

Registration can be blocked if the date of birth (DOB) on the account or player profile is incorrect.

How to fix it

  1. Download or open the MyPGA app

  2. Log in to the MyPGA account associated with the player

  3. Edit the player’s date of birth under account/player details so it matches the player’s actual DOB

  4. Return to the registration website and try again

Ensure players are registered to the appropriate Division

Division eligibility (based on age as of July 31 of the program year)

  • 9U Division: Player must be 9 or younger

  • 13U Division: Player must be 13 or younger

  • 17U Division: Player must be 17 or younger

Examples

  • If a player turns 14 on August 1, they are still eligible for 13U that year

  • If a player turns 10 on July 30, they are not eligible for 9U

2) Being asked to pay the #GameChanger Club fee again

What is the #GameChanger Club?

The #GameChanger Club is a required annual membership for each player participating in PGA Jr. League.

  • Cost: $120 per player

  • Renews: once per calendar year (January–December)

  • Paid by: parent/guardian during registration

  • Important: Each player only needs to purchase it once per calendar year, even if they join multiple seasons or programs

Common cause

This prompt usually appears when you are registering from a different MyPGA account than the one used previously.

How to fix it

  1. Confirm you are logged into the same MyPGA account used for the previous registration

    • If unsure, check the email address that received prior registration confirmations or program notifications

  2. Log out and back in using the correct account

  3. Reattempt registration

Once you are in the correct account, the system should recognize the membership as already paid for that calendar year.

3) Program looks available, but registration won’t go through

Common cause

Sometimes a program appears in search results before registration is fully enabled for the new season.

How to troubleshoot

  1. Visit the Find Program page on the PGA Jr. League website to confirm the program listing

  2. Check back periodically, as new programs may open throughout the year once finalized by the coach

  3. If you are a returning player, contact the coach from your previous season to ask when the next program will be available

Registration Not Visible in MyPGA App

Sometimes, a child’s registration does not show up in the MyPGA app. This can often be resolved by:

  1. Verifying that you are logged in with the correct email address used during registration.

  2. Logging out of the MyPGA app and then logging back in.

  3. Reinstalling the app to refresh your account data and ensure the app is functioning correctly.

Registration Appears 'In Progress'

When the registration status is displayed as "In Progress" and does not complete, it typically indicates incorrect account holder information on the MyPGA account. Follow these steps to resolve it:

  • Verify that the MyPGA account was set up with the parent or guardian listed as the account holder rather than the child.

  • Update the account holder information in the account settings to reflect an adult, which the system requires for completing registration.

Editing Incorrect State Information

If the registration displays the wrong state, you can update this through the MyPGA app:

  • Navigate to your account settings within the app.

  • Follow the app’s step-by-step instructions to correct your state information or any other errors.

Additional support

If these steps don’t resolve your issue, contact PGA support through the MyPGA app or the official website for help.
