Use Notes to provide a more personalized experience, jog your memory and make a plan before an upcoming session. Notes can be kept private or shared with your student.
Types of Notes
Notes in PGA Coach can be created in a few different ways and serve multiple purposes. Weāll recommend a few best practices but we also encourage you to use notes in the way that works best for you.
- Great for storing additional details or preferences about your student
- Private by default and can be shared via Messages with a student
- Tied to a specific session with a student
- Great for providing lesson recaps or takeaways specific to a session
- Private by default and can be toggled for students to view via the MyPGA app
- Can also be shared via Messages with a student
Student Notes - Creating, Editing and Sharing
To get started, navigate to 'Contacts' in the bottom menu and select a student. On a student's detail page, you can quickly 'Add Note' from top menu or select the 'Notes' button to view all notes for a student and create a new note from here.
Note: The title field is optional, but the content area is required to save a note. If you leave the title field empty, the note will save as "Untitled Note."

Use quick actions menus (āÆ) on the note 'card' or within a specific note to share it with a student, edit or delete. 'Share with Student' populates the note contents into a Message via PGA Coach. The message can be edited before sending but changes made via Messages will not be saved back into the note.
Sending the message will trigger a push notification to the student on the MyPGA app (if they have it) as well as an email to the student with the subject "You have a new message" and the note content shown in the email.
ā”ļø Pro Tip: Invite your students via the Student Details page to download the MyPGA app for a better experience with Notes (and other amazing aspects of your coaching)

Session Notes - Creating, Editing and Sharing
Navigate to a session on your calendar or from your Upcoming Schedule on the home screen. Click on the session to view details and select āAdd a Noteā to get started.
Once a note has been added, from within the session details, you can see a preview of your note, and quickly view or edit the note.
Another option for adding a session note is through the studentās session history. Navigate to 'Contacts' in the bottom menu and select a student. Choose āSessionsā and within the more actions menu (āÆ) of a session, you can Add a Note.
To share a session note with a student, simply click the toggle to make the note visible to the student on the MyPGA app.
The note for the student will be viewable in the same way - through the calendar and opening the session details via the MyPGA app.
Viewing All Notes
- Both Student and Session Notes can be viewed through a student's detail page by selecting 'Notes'.
- Session Notes have a calendar icon and Student Notes do not.
- Any notes that have been made visible to the student display a person icon
- All saved notes are shown in the Notes list by order of their creation date and time, with the most recent at the top and oldest at the bottom.
- Tapping on a note card from the Notes list will open the note in view mode. Tap the Edit button to start writing.

What's Next
The goal of the current Notes feature is to make it easier for you keep track of your students and share important details with them, building a better connection. We're always exploring ways to make it more valuable for you, like adding auto-reminders, attaching images/videos and allowing students to create notes.
