Why Group Events

Hosting group events is a great way for a PGA Coach to create community, bring students together and scale their offerings while having a great time. One great thing about PGA Group Events is the marketing and registration pages are hosted directly on pga.com, lending brand recognition and exclusivity as this feature is only available to PGA members.

What you need

Before creating a group event you'll need to create a coach profile, and set your availability. While it is our intent to allow group events to be created without a coach profile, for now, it's required.

Creating an event

To create an event you'll first navigate to your My Offerings. This will bring you to your programs. You will then go to events.

This will take you to your scheduled upcoming and past events. Which from here you will want to create event.

From here you can decide to choose from one of our templates that we have already created for you to use as you please. You can copy an existing event that you may have created prior. Or you can build your own event from scratch.

If you Build Your Own you'll be brought through a wizard flow where each step asks you a question on the path to creating your event.

  1. Offering Name: Your events name.

  2. Location: Where is your event? These options are currently pulled from your coach profile.

  3. Tags: Choose up to 5 describing your event.

  4. Age Group: Who is this group event intended for?

  5. Description: Identify who the offering is for?

    • Is this offering going to be for beginners or advanced golfers

    • Is the offering child and/or family friendly?

    • Are there age restrictions? Will alcohol be served?

    Do participants need equipment

    • Include in your description if golf equipment is required

    What are the expectations?

    • Will participants need to be ready to go onto the golf course?

    • How many participants wil be attendting (5 is a lot different than 50),

    • How much 1-on-1 time will I have with the coach?

    Are friends allowed to join?

    • Can participants bring friends or family?

    • Is the offering for members of the club only?

    What's included?

    • Will participants receive range balls, shop discount, food and/or alcohol?

    Frequently asked questions

    • Include a list of commonly asked questions

    • Provide contact information

  6. Featured Image: The header image that will display on your pga.com marketing page.

  7. Recurrence: When is the event. Choose multiple days to create a multi-day/time event by adding sessions but please note the price you set will be the total for all days.

  8. Use PGA Coach to handle registrations. Selecting "no" will allow you to use an external platform to handle your group event registrations. Please note that once you do that, we have no knowledge of your event attendees and cannot handle payments or provide statistics on your event. We can, however, still promote your event on PGA.com/things-to-do.

  9. Restrictions:

    1. Limit attendance: How many attendees is the maximum?

    2. Access Code: Create an access code so only attendees with the code can register. This process the attendees would need to request an access code through messaging you for that code, you will need to send the access code for the registration to them directly.

  10. Price: How much would you like to charge? By selecting One-Time Payment, you can accept online transactions.

Wondering if PGA Coach can manage payments for you? Click here to start with online payments. Alternatively, you can collect payments manually outside of the software.

  11. Would you like to list this event on PGA.com? Listed events will be discoverable through the event search at pga.com/things-to-do. Unlisted events will not show up in searches and will require you to provide potential attendees with the link in order for them to register.

That's it! You'll see the success page pictured below and be able to copy your unique, public-facing URL to share with your students via email, social media, text message or however else you choose. From that public page, students will be able to register your event!
